Hot day on the River.

Went for a ride along the river today to break in the steed and boy was it a hot one.

No the temperature gauge on my computer is not broken – it was reading 00 in the sun which means that with the pavement and direct sun it was around 100degrees.

Cable Off-Road Classic.

Raced in Cable, WI today and it was 39 degrees at the start line with winds at 15mph gusting to 25mph after raining on the course all night. Needless to say it was pretty miserable out there but the race was pretty fun, wish there had been a little more single-track but my entry was comped so no biggie. The results aren't up yet but I feel like I was middle of the pack with a time around 1:30 for 20 miles.

Went on a ride on Mother's Day - it was raining almost the whole time. Fun ride from the Hub to Lilydale and back. Sorry the photos are from my telephone.

Wet conditions kept most others off the paths.

Went for a ride today with Mr. Andy Arkelin (who by the way is newly engaged so if you see him congratulate him and buy him a beer). We cruised from St. Paul to Minnehaha Falls and then down into Mendota and Lilydale to find our back to St. Paul along the river. Started wet ended sunny. Great day on the bike. Here's some phone photos.

Ended up at Lucky's Bar in Mendota for what we thought would just be our third beer but thanks to the generous offering from the Summit beer reps we drank our fourth as well.
Still wet cruising by cones - couldn't help but have a little fun.

Made our way home.
Only to discover an abandoned razor scooter which Andy then threw down on.

Apparently the price is the Maglia Rosa. Anyhow if you haven't been following the Giro d'Italia started yesterday and already there has been some angry words by HTC rider Mark Cavendish for the sprint finish today he had against Petacchi. I personally like Cavendish and think he is one hell of a sprinter. But this comment irked me - “It’s the price of success, whether it’s other riders, other teams, the jury or race officials, it’s how it is. It’s what I gotta deal with. It’s the price of being successful,In the past, I’ve been disqualified for other things. Now I feel like I have to watch out for everything I do. It’s not fair for me to take that out on Alessandro today. It’s not his fault I am being singled out.” I'm glad he didn't completely go after Petacchi but still he is holding the jersey and complaining about the price of success. You get paid to ride bikes - suck it up.
